Easter Weekend

It's that time again--it's Friday! The weather is lovely tonight and I'm feeling mighty healthy. It wasn't until yesterday that I remembered that Easter is just around the corner, so I'm barely just solidifying my plans. I see a honey-baked ham and other yummy food on the horizon; oh yes. Before I go ahead and tell you all that I hope your weekend is great, that it's filled with laughter and good times (and not spent too dangerously), let me get into what's new:

POETIC DEATH: I know Aster and Fiasco have already talked about the album's release, but let me reiterate that Poetic Death dropped his ONLY GODZ RELATE album five days ago, on April 13th! Much like Fiasco, I am not here to give you my review or thoughts on the album, because it's one that needs to be absorbed on a much larger scale and given many more listens, so you'll have to wait for that... or something (haha). With that said, though, have you given it a thorough listen through yet? What are your thoughts? What are your favorite tracks? If you haven't listened to it yet, or haven't snagged a digital copy, make your way to Bandcamp or any other digital retailer (iTunes, Goodle Play, etc) to add it to your arsenal of dope music. His IndieGoGo campaign is still up and running for hard copies, too. It ends on May 30th, though, so hurry up and reserve yours today.

"30 tracks of very thought provoking poetry, and broken limitations to the art of its culture. ONLY GODZ RELATE marks the next chapter to the introduction of Goth Hop / Sludge Hop, a combination of morbid poetry mixed with a desire and strive for a higher level of consciousness and overstanding."

Also, on April 16th, Poe got to kick it with BReal (of Cypress Hill fame) for a Heavyweights Radio interview on BReal TV (photo 1 and photo 2). Did you tune into that? Make sure you keep an eye on this website for when/if they post footage from the show.

GAVLYN: The winners from Gavlyn's "Forward Back" BeatStars remix contest were announced today. First place winner was awarded to Grim Fury (stream the remix) and the runner up was Jae Joe (stream the remix). Tomorrow, she will also be rocking alongside Oh Blimey during her set at Brokechella, on the Brownies and Lemonade Stage. Follow this link for information and the flyer.

Last, but not least, a new video interview surfaced, and it's from when she was in Spain on UMOtv. WATCH HERE where she talks about her album showcasing her transitions as an emcee, her eclectic taste in music, being fashionable in music, being featured in London's Front Magazine, and more. Tell me that microphone piece isn't enormous, haha.

VIDA KILLZ: Vida posted a brand new video for her Negative Space on vinyl IndieGoGo campaign. Check out the video below, get an idea of what the vinyl will sound like, and make sure you check out her fundraiser.

JASSON C: While Jasson has kind of been lowkey lately, he did announce the official release date for his forthcoming LA Project album today. You can look for it on June 5th, so put that on your calendar and stay tuned.

FEGGY MIN: Feggy has been really productive this week! Her new pieces include a duo feature of A$AP Lou Banga and A$AP Illz and a six-color variation of Jackson (of the Got 7 boy group). Remember this Zico piece from last week? Well, that was inspired by the new Block B's colorful and creative music video for "Jackpot" (Side note: Not related, but the lead girl in the music video is from one of my favorite Korean movies, called The Man From Nowhere. Ahhh, dope!). Feggy has been creating more vibrant illustrations of the boys from the video, such as another Zico piece, U-Kwon, P.O., and Park Kyung. They all look pretty dope, huh?!
