The Purity of Love and War/Carousel/Exclusive News from JG

#OGTWeekly Exclusive News: JG and Razor are in the "early stages" of a joint album. On top of JG working with Razor, Chateau Des Dieux (JG+Vida Killz) have also begun to work on their next album. You can listen to the first Chateau Des Dieux album by clicking here.

This is Fiasco and I am really excited to supply you with a new OGT Weekly. Can't you tell by my face?

Papa J. Ruiz
A very happy birthday to Papa J. Ruiz! Make sure you head to PapaJRuiz.com to grab his music and merch!

Get ready for Papa J. Ruiz's HR-1955 album with the official album teaser. It is set for a March 25, 2015 release.

Vida Killz

Vida Killz has officially released her short story collection Thoughts While Dreaming: Collection 1. I'm looking forward to picking this up to explore more of Vida Killz' literature via her short stories.

If you were unaware, Vida Killz has commenced selling hardcopies of Negative Space again which are available by clicking here.

Three New OGT Albums

The Purity of Love and War by Von Poe VII

Von Poe VII doesn't waste anytime relaying powerful words in The Purity of Love and War. "Basquiat" commences the album and Von Poe VII makes tremendous use of words in this track. It's eye-opening jaw-dropping poetry. The ending skit on "Basquiat" featuring Jay Z gives you an idea of what the album is about.

It is also important to note that Poe has included 5 tracks that can also be found on his previous albums VONPOEVII and ONLY GODZ RELATE. I really like that idea because if new listeners like those tracks (for example, "Cowboy Bebop") they will go back to those albums. Basically it's a great way to still promote those albums while at the same time focusing on the new one.

Although it is hinted in "Basquiat" that the album is about love and war on the road to success I also feel that it is the love and war that Poe has experienced since being in the Hip-hop scene. He has made a lot of relationships within and outside Organized Threat and I believe that the The Buttress and Papa J. Ruiz solo's represent the "love" experience. As far as the "war" experience, Poe isn't shy in relaying his tenet of the current state of the rap game and his experiences with former Organized Threat members and those who tried to beef with the threat.

As far as putting focus on single tracks I appreciate the contrast between the tone of production and tone of Poe's voice in "Dante's inferno". The insertion of previous tracks such as "Phlegmatic" also remind me of my favorite lines from Poe such as the following "And my word is bond but, they don't understand it / so now I'm posted up in the garden with 2 leprechauns and a bandit". To this day I still don't understand what the garden, leprechauns, and bandit are supposed to represent and it doesn't bother me. It just fascinates me to keep thinking about what it could mean and those words strung together make prevent the track from being scant in poetry.

Words that are evoked when listening to The Purity of Love and War; poetry, frustration, genuine, yearning for something more (maybe recognition).

Samples Of Fire by Joogy Jugg

This 15 track beat tape from the Organized Threat producer Joogy Jugg features an array of sounds. All rappers are welcome to utilize these beats to their advantage. All we ask is that you give the proper credit to Joogy Jugg. Organized Threat is not only a movement but a family. That comes into play when Joogy allows Rellim to get a slot on his tape with "Jazz Work". Tracks like "Blue Flame, "THinkHiR", "Du Wop", "Sunlight", and "Cruising U.S.A." are some of my favorite tracks and justify Joogy Jugg's usage of the title Samples Of Fire

Before You Enter; The Ghost Room by Xican Brown

Xican Brown is one of the newest additions to the Organized Threat roster. Although we have seen his visual "God's Gravedigga" we still didn't know too much about him. His new album Before You Enter; The Ghost Room gives us more insight on his creative mind and who he is as an artist. Tracks like "Holy Water" and "Change for 20 Cents" are tracks you really do not want to miss. Live From The Ghost Room will be Xican Brown's next album.

New OGT Audio

JG releases the last single off his upcoming Stay Still album with "Strict" featuring Vida Killz

Jasson C goes on a lyrically onslaught in his new sound "OG Diablo".

New OGT Visual

Yarah Bravo bilingually expresses herself in her new visual "Carousel".

Von Poe VII starts the release of visuals for The Purity of Love and War with "Basquiat". This is also his first visual of 2015.

Words From Fiasco

There is your new OGT Weekly! To make sure you have everything down pact, check it over a second time. If you don't know how to introduce somebody to Organized Threat, this OGT Weekly will get the job done. I'm not going to hope you enjoyed this OGT Weekly because I know you did. I composed it.

The THREAT remains

Hello, OGTWeekly readers! Before I get into the gang and their happenings, did you see the new OGT logo with "THREAT" in the center? What do you think about it? About the logo, Poe said, "Don't let the new logo get you confused, this new approach is more like two sides of a coin. The symbolic nature behind the THREAT will remain, and if you see anyone rocking the SYMBOL you make sure to salute them!"

This is going to be a very long post--although, don't you kind of already expect that from me? Whether it's here or on my website, I'm frequently writing elaborate posts. That's just how I'm wired when it comes to writing about music, and other areas of entertainment, I suppose. Let's get into it...

VON POE VII / POETIC DEATH

Your boy Poe has been in a giving mood lately, have you noticed? Aside from announcing his forthcoming EP, titled The Purity of Love And War, he has released (I never liked the word "leaked" when referencing music... unless it refers to something being "leaked" by a bootlegger, maybe) a song called "Spotlights". Over swiped production from Pete Rock ("Center of Attention", to be specific), he recorded a tribute song that finds him speaking on taking advantage of our own lives, celebrating where he comes from, and, of course, stomping on rappers that are in the spotlight for all the wrong, self-serving reasons. (ie: fame and money). Stream the song, and get ready for that EP.

After putting new items in his merch shop, have you noticed that you weren't able to make any purchases? You were probably thinking you weren't doing something right, or that the site was fucking up, correct? Well, it was Poe's fault... but we won't give him too much flack for that. The issue is fixed, and you can get back to business. Valentine's Day is coming up, so why not get your man/woman some VII gear? ONLY GODZ RELATE on CD, beanies, snapbacks, iPhone 4 cases with his photography on them, and shirts with his photography on them (villain emblem on the back). It won't arrive on the day, but late gifts are still cool! SHOP HERE!

ARE YOU READY FOR HIS NEW EP!? He's steady working on the tracks, as well as new music videos to follow. Make sure you follow him on Twitter, because this dude is always talking.

PAPA J. RUIZ

Going to hit you all with the most exciting news first, ok?! On February 7th, Papa J. unveiled a 54-second album teaser video for his much-anticipated album, HR-1955! You better get to watching it below, and look out for it on MARCH 25th, 2015 (listening party on the 24th)! Also, if you haven't yet, go stream and download "$700 Bail Fee", for free (name your price on this one). It didn't make the cut for the album, so go grab it.

For all of you rocking the heck outta those "iii" beanies, you better get the "iii" shirt to match! They're the first edition, and quantities are limited! Even if you don't have one or the other, better get your hands on one of these so you can show your love for this Papa J's music. Better grab the shirt quick, though, because there are only 6/10 remaining (as of right now). Plus, he's selling the shirts for $18.99 and the beanies for $20.99, today and tomorrow, and then the price goes back up to their original costs (assuming there's any left). Also,, last time I checked, he only had one color beanie stocked, but now there are 3 choices--burgundy, navy blue, and grey (which, at the time of writing this post, is currently sold out). Look around in his MERCH SECTION.

Papa J. recently shared some words of wisdom that pertain to his music and why comparing him, or yourself, to other people (at any time, not just in regards to one's craft) is unfair and unnecessary. I wrote it down here, so give it a read and some thought.

"iii want to be compared to MYSELF. iii have seen so many walks of life, so many faces & souls, that one is a fool to compare themselves to another human that walks the same earth as you. judge me off my life's work, the way iii treated people, the way iii shared my opportunities with all those iii have, or once had, around me. Judge me from the way iii loved so hard, not for my faults. iii was once told "the way you treat someone below you is the way the world will treat you," so iii choose to love hard, even when the world's foolishness comes from all directions. iii also was once told, "if you want the world, you must give the world"! #iii #HR1955 3/25"

This better be you in this tweet, you guys. You know you're salivating at the mouth, anxiously waiting for another audible treat from Papa J's album! Keep your iii's (eyes) on him, and his next move.

Going to end this Papa J. Ruiz entry with a throwback photo that he posted of himself. :)

JMEGA THE GOD

New in the world of JMega is an in-depth interview with him and the Premiere Hip Hop blog. He has an intellectual conversation, and talks about meeting MyGawd (the second half of True Masterz), what it means to have knowledge of self, his vocal standpoint when it comes to understanding his audience and rapping, his standpoint on racial separation, his older music, recording music in his own space, music improvements, word of mouth vs paying for promotion, and a lot more. It was a very insightful read, and I really enjoyed learning more about JMega and where his head is at. Go read that interview over here when you find the time. I'm going to copy and paste something that he said, that I greatly respect. On the topic of responsibility of an artist with knowledge of self, he said:

"As an artist you want to create and say whatever it is you want to say. But at the same time when you know you have to act accordingly. If you know fire is hot then you are going to do your best to avoid it. When I truly gained the knowledge and the science behind all of this then I knew I couldn’t just write ignorant shit and it has to make sense. If you have knowledge it is your responsibility to act accordingly or else you are doing you and the world a great disservice. What good are you if you know the truth and ain’t sharing it?!"

SONNY SEV

In case you didn't remember, EmptySev changed his name to Sonny Sev. He will be releasing a BRAND NEW EP soon, in collaboration with producer STiM, titled LOCALZ ONLY. While there has yet to be a release date announced, he dropped two singles from it so far. The first being "Finessed" (lyrics). Through clever punchlines and a lot of metaphors, Sonny Sev raps about those who hide behind a false reality and put up a hard front, whereas he isn't ashamed of who he is and only speaks on what he knows. Or, at least, that's what I gather from the lyrics when I listen.

Then, there's the second single, titled "Saintz", that was released a couple of days ago. The beat is heavy and grungy, and Sonny Sev smashes it with boastful lyrics and an aggressive delivery. One of the lines that stood out to me first, was "I put it down like Old Yeller". It's real simple and straight to the point in talking about his deadly raps, but when I heard it, I was like "daaamn, alright!" Haha. Super dope track. I'm definitely looking forward to this EP, after hearing these two tracks. Are you? Better be.

On a little side note, I recently created some art for Sonny Sev, too. So, that's cool! When he unveils it is up to him, but I dig it (hahaha).

YARAH BRAVO

Yarah posted several photos from the Festival of Diversity event that she played at, earlier this month. Describing the event, she said: "It is a demonstration for an open-minded and tolerant society. The event promises to be the largest citizen-led rally to take place in Berlin, since the rise of Pegida demonstrations." There is so much unified beauty in the crowd, and I love it. Have a look through THESE 16 PHOTOS.

While on the topic of beauty, Yarah has always been someone who embraces individuality, isn't afraid to be silly, and moves through life with a positive outlook. This photo/caption is a perfect display of that. You go, girl!

On February 13th (TOMORROW), she will be performing at the Real Music For Real People event, taking place at the Hot Jazz Club located in Munster, which features Yarah Bravo (yay!), Lady Daisey & Batsauce (also two wonderfully talented people!), and Duct Tape. Check the Facebook event for more information.

On February 27th, Yarah will be performing at the KINGSIZE awards in Stockholm, Sweden. She's nominated for her Love Is The Movement EP, that we all love! Even though she thinks she won't win it, she's still displaying positivity and love. We hope she wins it, though! She surely deserves it, in my opinion.

VIDA KILLZ

Vida dropped a special little EP on February 2nd, appropriately called The B-Sides. Here, you will find a handful of songs that didn't make the cut for her forthcoming album, Daydreams and Nightmares. Of the 13 that weren't up to par with the rest of the album, she chose 6 of them for this EP. You can either download it for free, or donate any amount you would like. STREAM AND DOWNLOAD!

As announced in her newsletter, she is starting to sell Negative Space CDs again. So, if you missed the opportunity to get your hands on one from the first batch, make sure you snag one as soon as possible from her Bandcamp page. Along with the CD, you will also receive a unique, handwritten note, and a download code for a free song.

If you follow any of her social media accounts, you might've seen several pictures of Vida hanging out Poland-based producer Elhuana. They collaborated in 2012, on the Alchemy EP (if you aren't familiar with that, you might as well do that asap). Aside from the one posted below, here are a couple more pictures: ONE | TWO.

Here is another picture, that features Aster, Poe, Elhuana, and Vida. Along with it, Vida talks about the power of the internet and the special connections we make over time, through it--whether they are temporary or are long-lasting relationships. She writes about how she and Poe met, and creates a conversation by asking about YOUR most interesting internet connection. Be sure to share yours below.

XICAN BROWN

Xican Brown dropped a brand new single on February 5th, called "Devil Is A Lie". It will be on his forthcoming mixtape, titled Before You Enter; The Ghost Room, which will be out on February 20th. Over a hard-hitting, drum-thumping, horn-blowing beat, laced with a haunting soulful chop, Xican Brown spits with a ferocious force about his stance on religious beliefs. It's a beast of a track. Might have to stamp a NSFW (or NSFC - not safe for church, haha) warning on it, based on the sliiiightly offensive lyrics. But it doesn't matter to me, so I'll play it! Stream the song below, and DOWNLOAD FOR FREE!

RELLIM

Rellim was featured on Loud Lord's instrumental album, called Kush Krazy 3. It's a bonus track, called "Scarface", so stream the beat below and DOWNLOAD for free.

Also, Rellim has some special news for you all. Let me start by saying that there's a rapper in South Korea, called Keith Ape. At the start of this year, a music video for a song called "It G Ma" dropped on Youtube. In just a month and a half, it has garnered 1.6 million views (and growing). Junior chef is the producer of that song, and he is working with Rellim on some beats right now. With that in mind, there may also be a Keith Ape song produced by Rellim and Junior Chef. Peep the short video in the INSTAGRAM VIDEO HERE (if the embedded video below doesn't work/show up for you, then click the link), because it's a beat they're cooking up. BE ON THE LOOK OUT.

JOOGY MUSIC

Joogy has a beat tape dropping on February 17th. I asked Joogy to tell me about the beat tape, and he said: "It's going to be a 14-16 track beat tape. I'll announce the title of the beattape on Sunday. I've actually been sitting on this beat for, like, a couple months, because I been switching out tracks. It's going to be free beatape. All I stress is if anybody uses any of the beats on this tape, just make sure you give me my credit and spell my name right. I'm not asking for too much. And one more thing, it's going to drop on my Bandcamp, my YouTube, Soundcloud, and Datpiff."

So, that's it! Make sure you stay tuned to his Twitter for the title on Sunday, and for when it drops on Tuesday!

Alright, everyone. That's it for today.
I know you are probably overwhelmed by the amount of content and news here,
but, trust me, it's worth it.
The next two days are going to be interesting, too,
because one is based on superstition and horror, and the next with acts of love.
Whether you are celebrating either day, or not, I hope you have a fantastic rest of the week!
Over and out.
XOXO, TIFFOLOGY
