Quick health update; Tiffany is a strong survivor of a viscous cold and it's been almost a week since Razor was hospitalized for "internal problems". According to their social media accounts, both seem to be doing just fine. :)

Vida Killz has cut 13 tracks from her upcoming album Daydreams And Nightmares and has chosen 7 of those tracks to be part of this special project. Although they may be seen as the ones that didn't make it, knowing that they are coming from Vida Killz they are sure to be packed with a ton of real emotion.

Here is the latest Organized Threat mix that was put together by OGT producer Endure One. This is a great way to be re-introduced to some tracks and a quick and easy way to introduce the movement to a friend.




Ruman instantaneously transforms a horrific day into a teriffic day in his new sound "Posh Whips And Shrimp Dishes". I even learned a new word in a track Ruman didn't say one word in! #Posh.




Ruman also adds a new sound to his catalog with "Marvin".

Within 24 hours (earlier this month) Rellim creates and releases a track entitled "The Tree That Weeps With Me". It's poetry from the title to the last second of the track.

Ain't No Turnin' Back

POETIC DEATH:

On November 22nd, the Inland Empire section of Organized Threat were together in one room--we're talking about Von Poe, Koolz One, Xican Brown, EmptySev, and Endure. Alongside posting a dope group photo, Poe said some things that helped illustrate this as being a night to remember: "Tonight is a dope ass night, dope as fuck! 2015 looking like a mothafuckin problem, and this ain't even the half of us!" He also got up and kicked it with Vida Killz a couple of days ago (who else is excited for another DeathKillz project?!).

As promised, Poe dropped a brand new music video 5 days ago. This time, it's for the song "Fear", from his ONLY GODZ RELATE album. This song's production was handled by Faces, Unearthed, and Endure, with cuts from DJ Starchild. The first half finds him spitting about how easy it would be to become a sell-out (succumbing into peer pressure, changing his music in efforts to get money, and dumbing down his raps), but that's just not him nor what he lives for. The second half gets a slight beat shift, and Poe gets real serious. He speaks on the bravery and dream he has to go all in, all the time, to carve his name into history. But, as the title says, this is about fear, and you'll find him expressing his fear of being "bitten" by snakes in the garden (ie: helping friends/people who then turn around and step on his back later). PAPA J. RUIZ:

On December 1st, Papa J dropped his music video for "Me Against The World", from his forthcoming album. The song was produced by Ruman and Rellim. Giving you an idea of where his headspace and focus lies, he spits honest, personal raps about hustling to feed and protect his loved ones/family, and being one to fight and prevail through bad times. He sheds light on some real life scenarios that could've brought him down, but he kept his head up and moved forward. "Everytime that I never had shit - I'ma get it!" Directed by Chad A. Marshall, of course! Cameos from Von Poe VII, Joogy Music, and Koolz One.

He was also selling his first run of the "iii" beanie (see him in it here), but it seems to have sold out now -- congratulations on that! Be on the look out for a restock on December 12th, but while you wait, go ahead and check out the rest of his merch options (posters, CDs, stickers, and apparel).

YARAH BRAVO:

Since the last time I caught up on Yarah's happenings, she has played at The No Stress Winter Festival (look at this smiling beauty and view more photos), shared a special bonding moment with her father here, shared some photos with some lady friends, danced in the streets with DJ Vadim, and she also let us know that a music video for her beautiful song "Carousel" is coming soon (better listen to and grab Love Is The Movement if you're behind on that)! And, if you're in Berlin, Germany, tomorrow (December 5th), you can catch her performing at Panke's Down Low event. Look at this flyer for more information.

VIDA KILLZ:

Over these last couple of weeks, Vida dropped the 5th and 6th installments in her live video series. The performances were of "Lady Death Pt. V", from her forthcoming Daydreams & Nightmares album, and "Lucid Dream", from her Negative Space album. For fun, she compiled a playlist of live videos she's recorded over the years, too... you can watch those here.

SOULCAT E. PHIFE:

In my last post, I talked about the coming of a new Soulcat song called "Ain't No Turnin' Back"... and since then, it has dropped! When I hit play, about 15 seconds in, I let out a joyous "Ooooo!" Produced by Phil Chronics, this smooth beat is driven by hard-hitting drums, a groovy bassline (it's so good), and glimmering percussion, which, in combination with the hook, has a strong R&B vibe (reminds me of 90s R&B jams). Soulcat E-Phife jumps on the first verse (Deliman on the hook and Phil Chronics rapping in German on the second verse), and I just looove her voice and presence on the mic. #QUICKTHOUGHT: As a fan/listener/follower for Organized Threat looking in from the outside, one thing does concern me about the process of this album. That one thing is the loyalty of members. I'm not questioning the loyalty of anybody right now in the group but, we've seen a fair share of members leave the camp this year. Anything can really happen in a year with any one current member. Goals change. Mindsets change. It happens. Imagine what would happen if the members from the begging of this year all decided to work on the album this year? It would be ruined. But, I am assuming Von Poe VII used his good judgement and does not question the loyalty of the current members of Organized Threat. With that being said, this will be the very first Organized Threat album. The album will mean so much more if everyone who is on the first one is on the last.

When Poe laces up and puts on his grill you know the visual is about to be fire. Even though this is Poe's visual he was able to balance the attention and put the appropriate amount of focus on the dancer Reginald Anthony Webber Jr. The scenes of Webber dancing with the pillars surrounding him, may be the best scenes Chad A. Marshall (Von Poe VII) has ever shot. "Cowboy Bebop" is produced by Ruman and can be located on Von Poe VII's album ONLY GODZ RELATE.


Did You Know This About The Threat? 

As I continue to not only be a blogger for Organized Threat but, as a fan as well, I always want to learn more about them. I was able to get in contact with Von Poe VII and have him send me five facts about Organized Threat. Here are 2 of those 5 facts below. The 5th fact was a question I came up with on my own because it's something I've been wondering about. So I crushed my wonder and asked the question. I also urge you to go read the rest of the facts because I also included a lot of dope music by Organized Threat, too.

2. Organized Threat was started in 2006 by Chad A. Marshall and a Spanish teacher from his Highschool, Chad A. Marshall is the only original member still in the camp (if you don’t include the reboot of the group that happened in 2012).

Fact #5 is one that I was personally interested in so I had to make sure I obtained the story behind this fact. A sample of a gentleman saying “Organized Threat is the future” can be found on a couple of OGT tracks. This is how it happened.

5. Von Poe VII said, “the bum sample came from a trip to Vegas while filming “Black Pyramid”. He wanted a cig and I told him only if he said OGT on camera. I felt it was cheesy for an MC in the camp to say it. Kinda bias you know? But a bum on the street? Golden”.

Reality Check



Razor accurately translated the ruthless feeling in the track to the visual with his manifestation of his actions in this visual directed by Chad A. Marshall. This track and more can be found on Razor's album F.A.I.T.H. Although this album is dope, according to Poe, we can expect even better on Razor's next project.

More Music From The Threat

EmptySev dropped a new track entitled "Gas Chamberz". Faces must have really went into a grimey no holds barred mind state to produce this beat. It is currently getting daily rotation in my playlist and it ranks right next to my other favorite track by him "Bloody Sabre".



Jasson C blesses us with his first single "Dolphins (Tom Hanks)" off his upcoming album. We witness a focused (as always) Jasson C on this track who's looking to get awards like Tom Hanks. If you ain't doing it big don't do it at all!

Vida Killz Destructs and Rebuilds in order to take charge and lead in her latest EP Destruction: Rebirth of Self. This is a collaboration effort with producer GRIEF78 and this is their last installment to their trilogy.

Organized Threat has also this Organized Threat Mix series. There have been two volumes released so far. The first one was composed by Rellim and the second by Ruman. Both feature several quality tracks from a few artists from the camp. I really think this is a good way to get someone into Organized Threat. If you know someone who hasn't heard of Organized Threat yet, send them these two mixes. And if you're really friendly, show a random person at your local grocery store.

JG has released a real piece of art in "The Prologue EP". This is his first installment in his Stay Still series. JG says,“The concept for the upcoming Stay Still is that the world has essentially ended. And the tracks take you through the types of people and feelings that someone in a post apocalyptic world would see/feel. But it’s so far removed from the actual event that the event itself lies in some folklore grey area”. What really impresses me about this project is JG's voice and delivery. I don't know how to explain it in a rational matter. His delivery is just smooth and uncracked. Almost like there are no faults. JG really raps his ass off in this project and I honestly think he has potential star power. Click here to listen.

If JG has one role (either MC or producer) I would really like to hear him spit a verse and see how he matches up with the other elite MCs of Organized Threat.

I'm sure you all know by now, I fucking love to talk about how much it matters to stand up and take action for what we believe in, whatever that may be. I also love to fucking talk about how important it is to mobilize and organize our voices in unison. I mean come on fuckers, lets face it; we all human; we all have the same internal organs; we all need water to drink and food to eat; we all need places to defecate. We may all be rolling along in different directions and at different speeds, but its our hearts and minds that lead us, and God knows we have that in common. Some though, they don't believe, they've lost hope and gone astray. They have been poisoned by doubt and retreat to solitude in resentment looking deep within themselves to find a pot of gold that was never placed. The goose couldn't lay the golden egg alone and loneliness isn't worth one's weight in gold. But with the pressure of all our voices united as one we can create diamonds; we can motivate and cultivate change. BECAUSE LETS FACE IT PEOPLE! Everyday we don't take a stand for what we believe in, we are letting corporate America rape us and we are tacitly consenting to support what they stand for. When you fill up your car with gas you're supporting big oil companies like Chevron who pollute the amazon by dumping their leftover waste water into its pristine rivers. When you go to Walmart and buy yourself some fucking toothpaste you're supporting the import of tuna caught illegally through bottom trolling fishing methods that unnecessarily kills tens of thousands of sea turtles every year. The list goes on and on but the truth is blatant; If you don't stand up for something you believe in, you'll be standing for a bunch of unnecessary bullshit you didn't even really know you were standing for. And the only way to change this crazy thing called life is by standing together, being loud and being proud. Organized Threat stands loud and proud, and overall for the greater good and love of mankind. There's a certain kinda power that comes with numbers, we all know this. So don't be ignorant, perhaps stand with us, or at least stand for something. Or else you'll stand for nothing but bullshit.

I am pleased to close out this blog with 2 new tracks from Organized Threat!

The first comes from JMega The God with his new sound "Written In Steel". JMega The God lays down his godly delivery over production by Aquarius Minded. JMega FLEXXX's HARD in this track.

"I bust guns for my niggas who bust guns for me / I shed blood for my niggas who shed blood for me" - JMega The God.

Whether he meant this metaphorically or literally is not important. It is the message behind it. A motto that some family's (blood related or not) go by. This rings true for JMega and his family.

We also have new music from Rellim and Jasson C. Guess what?! Rellim isn't the producer on this track, he is an emcee alongside Jasson C! When you compare the two you can clearly notice that Jasson C is the more developed emcee but, Rellim still holds his own! Listen to their new track "That Notion" which I praised in my blog for using the word "notion". No it's not the most complex of words but, when it comes to tracks that play off of a word, it is usually a simple word. "That Notion" raises that bar intellectually and creatively.

#BREAKINGNEWS: EmptySev will release a video for "Sonny". Sev tweets "Just wrapped up this #SONNY shoot. Should be up by tomorrow. S/o to @VonPoeVII as always & @DeLaaaSoul for letting me swing a sword at her". That was tweeted yesterday so that means it should be up today! Be on the lookout for it.

Is it possible to experience heaven while alive on Earth? Maybe we are experiencing heaven right now. Maybe we are experiencing hell right now. Either way, how would we know that this is how heaven is supposed to feel or how hell is supposed to feel? It is also likely that heaven and hell don't even exist. Seeing heaven is one of EmptySev's goals (literally or metaphorically) and it may be a goal he will never achieve and even if he does will he be able to notice it?

I didn't mention in my previous two OGT Weekly's but, I will mention it now. I have applied psychological criticism to another Von Poe VII track "THE VILLAIN". Here is an excerpt from the criticism:

"Von Poe’s psyche goes from rational to violent in a matter of two lines. Lines 37 to 38 read “And barking back at dogs / Before I’m ripping out their internal organs”. When he writes that he is “barking back at dogs” that is his ego working. Verbally assaulting a foe is much more rational that physically attacking them. The ego is able to prolong this physical attack even though Poe expresses his desire to do so only one line later. The ego can no longer hold back the id in these two lines".

Devour has created a Youtube channel that he will utilize to upload shows, meet and greets, short films, and more. Here is his first official upload which features his 2nd stop on the #DevourUpTour2k14 as he performs and meets his fans. He also just recently released a visual for "Ain't a Fool" so be sure to check that out, too.

We all have daydreams and well have nightmares. Some occur more than others. We will have to wait a bit longer to learn about the daydreams and nightmares of Vida Killz. In a Facebook status she uploads a trailer that officially announces that Daydreams And Nightmares will be released in Fall of 2014. Click here to watch the video.

This past Friday some of the OGT members were able to kick it at DJ Starchild's place! EmptySev and Von Poe VII were there so I am assuming we can expect some guest appearances in EmptySev's "Sonny" visual, from those in the IG picture posted by Poe. Click here to view the post. Von Poe VII directs the majority of the OGT videos and they both announced that EmptySev will be dropping a video today so I would like to think that I am justified in believing that we can see those featured in the pic in the video as well.

Every Generation Deserves a Villain

HELLO OGT FANS AND FANATICS, FRIENDS AND FOES !

I titled this Wednesday #OGT weekly addition 'Every Generation Deserves a Villain' because, if you follow VONPOEVII as closely as i do, you'd understand how often and fervent he expresses the idea behind the phrase. And, you know, it's really got me wondering what the fuck a villain is. My nature as a philo-sophizer entices my desire to better understand the meaning or characteristics that define the word, and the best way to gain a more thorough comprehension of what a villain really is and anything for the matter is through examination of the origin; its fundamental parts. To me it seems that villains are essentially agents of disruption; they are the war to the peace of the story, the chaos within a world of order. Now when i feel naughty i play devil's advocate and I let myself wonder; is it possible for these two opposites to exist one-without-the-other? Would we really know peace if we didn't know war? Would we really know virtue if not fully aware of what it isn't, it's vice? Would we really be able to appreciate eudaimonia if first we did not know human degradation? It seems to me that a villain, or the idea behind one, is not only an essential part of our notion of human happiness but also an integral part of our notion of existence. Besides, at the end of the day, we all need a little disruption or else we'll never find the path paved to El dorado.

Welcome my minions, once again to this weeks' Wednesday OGT weekly addition drenched in everything ORGANIZED THREAT! Its also my pleasure to continue with you past a crucial moment in times turning pages: the release of VONPOEVII'S #ONLYGODZRELATE. We have left the before and finally transcended the after, little ones. Can you feel planets dis-aligning?! Do you feel the blood under your skin starting to boil? Do you feel reality start to peel away like wallpaper? Do you feel yourself starting to turn into a wolf? or perhaps, wolf-ette? If so, GOOD, keep listening. Fully loaded with 30 tracks of blood, sweat and poetry, I find it hard to refer to the project as an 'album' because the simple definition doesn't even come close to doing justice to such a natural display of expression. To describe it as anything essentially confines it; a definition is easy to settle for but it also limits other possible avenues of interpretation. For example, an apple is usually an apple. But it can also be a form of pipe, weapon, and in some instances a bribe. The beauty of art and other aspects of life, I believe, is not held solely within the intent of the creator, but also within the beholder's individual interpretation. The beauty of art is within its boundlessness, and I believe #ONLYGODZRELATE is an exemplary paradigm of this. I am more than honored to have contributed to VONPOEVII'S project and if you haven't seen yet; get ready to strip off ya britches! ONLY GODZ RELATE IS HERE!!!

Well...where do I start? I should start off by stating that I have listened to ONLY GODZ RELATE by VON POE VII/Poetic Death. Although I have done this, I only listened to each song once. For me to proceed by analyzing this album or letting you know my favorite tracks, would be disrespectful. You may think I am being lazy but, am I really? This guy just put in work for the past several months and you expect me to go in depth on a 30 track album? No. It's not going to happen. There are still a few things I would like to shed light on even though I won't be able to go in depth about them. Poetic Death is known to inject historical information in his poetry and indeed he does so in this album, it is very noticeable on the track Road To Kemet where he and the features on the track shed light on the history of Ancient Africans. Not only does VON POE VII aim to assists with bringing knowledge to the forefront of Hip-hop, but he also utilizes an element in Hip-hop that could be argued has been lost. That element is DJ'ing. DJ Starchild provided the cuts on ONLY GODZ RELATE. VON POE VII says that ONLY GODZ RELATE "marks the next chapter to the introduction of Goth Hop / Sludge Hop, a combination of morbid poetry mixed with a desire and strive for a higher level of consciousness and overstanding". I was trying to keep the interview I set up with EmptySev, a secret from my Street Khemistry team. I was keeping it a secret just for the simple fact I wanted it to be a surprise. EmptySev ruined that with this tweet!! "Tried typing up answers for this interview w/ @StreetKhemistry on my phone and my hand got numb as fuck. Haha I'll do it on the PC tomorrow". The interview will focus on his upcoming album SEVENEMPTY and I know the questions that I composed will force EmptySev to provide new and intriguing information not only on the album, but on himself. The album is scheduled to be released on May 3rd.

Welcome, once again, to that fabulous day we socially celebrate as Hump Day. Various theories attempt to explain the origin of the peculiar reference, ranging from fucking someone [or if that doesn't work out, fucking yourself] which is the most logical and most self explanatory, to our generation's sense of humor and that damn commercial camel who goes around asking people what day it is. Regardless, for most of us it signifies the middle of the work week and, if you're anything like I am when I'm swamped with work, today you often remind yourself that it's half way done ['it' being whatever the individual chooses 'it' to be or signify]. But what better time to ask yourself why you're doing what you're doing and exactly how that 'what you're doing' is meaningful than when you're engulfed in your work? A recent little birdy set free by the poetic JASSON C intrigued me.

Sometimes, its a real slap in the face to watch individuals seemingly waste their time, and sometimes even their lives because they don't bother to ponder the importance of what they're getting involved in. It's like, did you have to get into the car with that extremely drunk guy you met at a bar? Did someone force you to bring that gun to school and pull the trigger on your classmates? The most disappointing aspect of freedom is that the human potential can be freely influenced and wasted simply at the turn of a key or the pull of a trigger. We cannot control the randomness of the world, but we CAN control our reactions. And the hardest thing to stomach is that with this responsibility we choose our paths, and therefore we chose this human degradation. It saddens me to look around and watch as people I love sink deep into a mire because they acted just to act, without considering the gravity of their choice. And then I am led to wonder the purpose of it, for some this contagious choice to suffer and for others not, and then I am reminded of a caged animal. And I am instantly reminded of what I never want to let myself become. Thankfully, I am surrounded by folks who live for what they do because they've taken the time and put in the effort to understand exactly what their work means to them personally. They have learning their worth and how to express their inner-forces positively, which i believe is what we're all aiming for. How do you feel about freedom of choice? Whom/what are you working for?

Playing "The Villain"

HELLO OGT FANS AND FANATICS, FRIENDS AND FOES!

If you're reading this, give yourselves a little pat on the back nymphs and nymphettes; for you have made it through the first week of 2014 & what an exciting and fulfilling week it has been. Straight outta the gate we were blessed with new flesh and blood, in the form of new vocals and visuals from the general himself VON POE VII. Yesterday, with the help of RICS RUMBLE & myself, he released a fresh and exhilarating new sound deemed 'The Villain - This is Murder Not Music' freestyle. I be lucky, for I had the pleasure of assisting in the production and even got the opportunity to make a frisky little cameo. Being in the back-shadows of productions like these so often with so much time to observe and evaluate has led me to really appreciate the quality of work produced by VON POE VII and to appreciate the diligence he maintains. In my experience, I have found that some artists use their voice for the sake of mainstream fame while some artists use their voice for the sake of replication. Some artists do it for the money, some do it for the pussy. My point being, some artists are incredibly easy to understand, because they're doing exactly what everyone else is doing; looking for 15 minutes under that blissful spotlight. With VON POE VII, that's clearly not the case. We are continuously bombarded with authentic and off-the-beaten-path material that forces fans and foes alike to really sit down and listen to what the fuck this work is all about. I doubt anyone would disagree that VON POE VII'S thoughts are filleted for all to relate, a strategy that has allowed him to form a close relationship with his fans. His fans [If I may so boldly speak for them] are kept on their toes and aren't given the opportunity to expect whats coming next. And what a beautiful thing it really is to be left in he dark, ready to be awakened and re-awakened by VON POE VII'S mysterious mental. Ah, I'm rambling again aren't I? Well, you freaks, as eager as i'm sure all of you are - here's 'The Villain - This is Murder Not Music' for your viewing pleasure.
