Be Untitled

VON POE VII / POETIC DEATH:

If you're a fan of any of the ORGANIZED THREAT artists, it's wise to stay up on their every move by following their social media accounts, because that's where you'll hear things first-- straight from their mouths... or typing hands, really. I say that, because earlier this week Von Poe dropped a brand new burgundy brown VII logo hat (10 total) and they sold out within 6 hours. SIX HOURS. SOLD OUT. Holy smokes, that was fast! See, if you want to get in on those word-of-mouth exclusives, you should involve yourself in more ways than one (because you probably check one app/site more than another, huh?). That said, go to Von Poe's website and go buy some merch from him. Before they're gone n shit. But, also, because all hat and shirt orders will come with stickers and a free copy of ONLY GODZ RELATE (more info on the limited-edition hard copies of that shown below).

I think Von Poe is the only artist that I know of that constantly adds and subtracts from his albums after they've been released. He's done that with several of his albums. He recently did that with The Purity of Love and War, too, by adding "The Villain III / Charged Up Remix (prod Maneesh & Noah "40" Shebib". In doing so, he said, "I tweak my albums after they drop because I treat them like social experiments. I think from now on I'm only gonna put demo versions of my future projects on iTunes and stuff. But if you'd want the full versions, you'd have to go to my site and grab them. More hardcopies of T.P.O.L.A.W coming soon, as well more visuals."

Along with adding that remixed song, and speaking on releasing more visuals from that album, he went ahead and put out a video for it, too! The video sees him sitting alone with his emotions, in a dark room, drinkin' something-something from a red Solo cup, while a menacing face with an evil grin flashes over his occasionally. The song plays out, and it finds the wordplay villain spitting with a fast-paced flow, imagery-laced bars, and a passionate delivery, serving razor-sharp lyricism to half-hearted musicians while speaking on the seriousness and all the heart and honesty that he puts into his craft ("That money talks to every corny rapper on every block // Stop dumbing down my culture // You king and queens be selling off our royalties to the vultures // What you thought this was a game to me // I'll lace the beat in the coffin box and tell it to rest in peace"). Check it out below.

#ATTENTION: What's good my villainz?! Ayo so real quick I got this announcement. I won't be pressing up any more...

PAPA J. RUIZ:

Papa J. Ruiz has some limited-edition strapback hats that are selling like hotcakes (that's still a saying right?). Last time I checked, there was only ONE left, so if you're dying to get one, make sure you head on over to his merch site to pick up yours, or grab some other gear.

For all you iTunes users, you can now go get his HR-1955 album over there. It's available for $9.99, so go grab it, if you haven't yet. And make sure you leave a review, if you do! Tell your friends, too. Speaking of YOU and MUSIC, have you ever wanted Papa J. Ruiz on a song with you... or maybe over a beat you made? As of August 14th, he has/had 3 slots open for a "VERSE & CHORUS" sale of $250, so if you're serious about that offer and want to make it happen, make sure you hit him up somewhere (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, find him).

Based on Fiasco's post below, and social media, of course, you already know about Papa J. Ruiz' new video for "Point 8". If you haven't seen it, hit this link to watch it now! It has surpassed the 12K views mark, but let's get that number to 20K! I'm gonna go ahead and embed it again, so you can get your watch on.

To end this Papa J. talk on a high note, he wrote on Facebook, encouraging people to have faith in the path you're on, no matter how dark or rocky it might seem... just look for the light and follow your dreams. "Started writing alot of new music this past week, we shall see what comes from it. More things in store but more importantly all iii can say is 2016/2017," he finished saying.

JMEGA THE GOD:

Remember awhile back when we got word that JMega was putting out full-length album, called Darker Than Black? I DO! He put out a little video promo last week, and it has me excited for what's to come. It will be produced entirely by Aquarius Minded and will be DROPPING SOON. Get a little sneak peak of some of the songs by clicking play on the 4-track sampler below.

YARAH BRAVO:

On August 6th, Yarah shared some photos of her, Mark Kelly, and Xewin, at the Pixelsound Studio, where they are getting some writing sessions in. New music from Yarah on the horizon, yes? She really puts the "bubble" in Captain Love Bubble, because she's always floating and bouncing from one place to the next. She's been performing at various shows and festivals, all throughout Germany, lately. She was in Krauchenwies, at the Tree Top Vibes festival (photo & photo set); she was in Munich, doing a show at the Milla Club (photo); and as of this weekend, she was in Halle, at the Breathe In Break Out hip hop festival (photo).

Her next show adventure will be in the form of a tour with a full band, sometime in October or November. "But first i will be going to the Amazon. Until then you can check out my very intimate showcase at The Music Apartment," she said, as she shared the 32-minute video shown below. Watch it when you have time, it's worth the half hour.

VIDA KILLZ:

Last week, Vida contributed a verse to the Vague003 remix of Spooky Black's "Welcome to Hell Zone". It's an unofficial release, but she kills it. Where there was an open gap of instrumental, right before Spooky's part, she jumps in with a dark, yet really hopeful verse, where she turns away from inner demons and looks towards a brighter, positive future. I literally got goosebumps when I listened to it for the first time. I have no idea who Spooky Black is, but I dig his singing voice on this, I really like this remix, AND I especially like it with Vida on it. Stream it below, orrrr hear it on Soundcloud and find the FREE DOWNLOAD there, too.

Vida is still working on collecting pictures for the music video to this "Untitled" song, so if you haven't done that yet and want to (or maybe you can share the concept with your social media timelines / friends), be sure to check out this Facebook event for details and participation requirements. The video is schedule to drop September 10th, but she still needs about 28 more picture submissions... so the deadline for that is August 23rd. Get on it! Help her out and your picture will be in the video.

Talking about the importance of the project, in the Newsletter, she said:
"Depression and sadly, suicide, have been things I have been aware of from a veeeeery young age. A very dear loved one of mine battled wanting to end their life at a young age due to bullying. I, myself, have battled depression for a large portion of my life. I have had friends and family either successfully exit this reality by their own accord, threaten to, or make attempts. You may have this in common with me.

I have come out on the other side of all these situations seeing how communication, words, behavioral patterns, family systems, societal systems impact a persons mental health and desire to exist. Because of all of this, I have always had the desire apart of the solution(s). I have always wanted to keep these difficult conversations on the table, to let others know there is someone who knows that these situations / thoughts / conversations exist everyday and in every single place that we all go. I have always wanted to remain with my candle flickering in my own darkness, if it meant I might light someone else's. I want all of the humans in our World with whom we walk by each day...unaware of the depths of their inner darkness, the battles they face and their lack of desire to continue on... to know they are perfect and that hope exists just beyond the horizon.

All that I do with my music, social media presence, and what I have begun to develop over at Absit Om3n are fueled by these desires. All I have done has always been about creating a path to the future for myself and anyone who resonates with what I emit.

With all that said, I am redoing the video for my song "Untitled", which is a song to a family member of mine who ended their life. I am choosing to release this video on September 10th; World Suicide Prevention Day. So, because this conversation is A LOT larger than myself, I need your help to complete the video. What I need from you is really simple, just one sentence and one photograph
."

Items needed:
-White sheet of paper, any color marker (or pen, I just need thick lettering):
1. Choose a positive affirmation, words of encouragement, or something you miss about someone you love who has passed away –only one sentence.
2. Write the sentence on thee paper (as seen in the picture attached).
3. Take a picture (MUST be landscape orientation – turn your phone sideways, make sure the image is wider than it is taller).
4. Send it/ them to me however works best for you. Email (you can respond to this email with it attached), Facebook, etc..

Also, if you are subscribed to her Newsletter or if you follow her moves via social media, you'd know about one of her most recent endeavors. She has started to make crystal necklaces and pendulums, and the pieces that she's posted so far have been beautiful. Last week, she officially launched the store on the Absit Om3n website, where you can place your order(s). See the one pictured below.

Hi muffins,I have recently shared that I've been working on a lot of things, and, I'm so happy to share the first of...

SOULCAT E. PHIFE:

Soulcat has been making her way through Budapest, performing at a few spots. First, it was the Hip To The Game / Live Hip Hop Jam & Open Mic event, on August 10th. On the 12th, she was at Telep, then at Ankert on the 13th. Music wise, she uploaded a remix of Common's "Dooinit". Listen, then feel free to download it over at Bandcamp for a few dollars.

RUMAN:

About two weeks ago, Ruman dropped a new track with BLVCK MVK, called "Eye Am". With a little bit of an eerie undertone, it's a hard-hitting, synth-heavy slapper that'll make your head nod. It's dope! Give it a listen below (actually, give it several listens), and pass it on.

JOOGY MUSIC:

I asked Joogy some questions about his forthcoming album, and although his answers were a little vague and mysterious, it still has be intrigued for what's to come.

I'm not sure if you said it yet, but what's the name of this forthcoming album?
I don't want to reveal the name just yet.
Is this album going to have a combination of instrumentals and vocal tracks? Or will every song have a guest feature, like "Pains Of Love" did with Papa J. Ruiz?
You can look for guest features from various artists.
About how many songs can we look forward to?
Like, 12 tracks.
How long have you been working on the project?
Beginning of the year.
As far as the album release, what day/time of month are you aiming for?
The latest, November.
What does this album mean to you and what do you hope people get from listening to it?
It's my first project, so it means everything to me and I hope the audience can relate.
Lastly, is there anything else that we can expect (themes, specific guests, etc)?
No theme, but special guest features. Just stay tuned. #JoogyMusic

Poetically killin' 'em

Hey, everybody! Happy new year to you all, and I hope it's a fantastic one! It's been a little awhile since I've graced the OGT Weekly blog (three weeks since Fiasco's post, I believe), and there's reason for that. Christmas and the new year were approaching, things got a little hectic, and before I knew it... it was January. Then, shortly after the wonderful NYE festivities, I became sick. Just like most of the population. That damned cold attacked my body... and I've been dealing with a sore throat, congestion, and all the horrible feelings that travel hand-in-hand with that. I'm still a bit sick, but today is the first that I don't feel like sleeping it off, and I am willing and able to do things on my laptop (cough, cough, hacking cough, blows nose). I'm going to do my best to catch you all up with the happenings since Fiasco's last post. It's going to be a long ride. Are you ready?

POETIC DEATH / CHAD A. MARSHALL

Wrapping up the year, Poe decided to showcase his eye for directing and editing music videos, by creating a 2-minute director's reel. While various clips of his work plays out, he narrates about his passion for being behind the camera, as well as his strive to be one of the best. If you haven't checked it out yet, you might want to do that (click here to watch on Youtube in HD, or watch the mini player below). And if you want to hire him to direct your next music video/project, make sure you hit up his website. One more thing, if you haven't subscribed to the ORGANIZED THREAT Youtube Channel, you might want to do that, to keep up with everything new as it gets uploaded. The channel has skyrocketed to 70,000+ subscribers, and almost 20 million collective views!

From Von Poe VII: "Since 2011, I've been dedicating my entirety to shooting music videos for my crew (Organized Threat) as well as a few exceptions outside of my camp in the Southern California music scene. Throughout all of this time however, a lot of people had heard about through word of mouth. Why I never put a reel together in the past kind of baffles me as well to be honest, but I think I just didn't feel I had enough material to create a reel that I would be satisfied with.

With 2014 coming to an end, I wanted to close it out properly and create a foundation for future directing endeavors soon to come. So I made a reel to display my directing and editing skills all in one nice, neatly made, 2min video. Hope you all enjoy, and if you have any questions feel free to reach out.
"

Before the year was up, Poe shared a golden piece of information. He released his very first album, titled The Atma Within, in 2005 when he was just 16 years old. On April 13th, 2015, he will be celebrating its 10th anniversary, and will put a fully remastered version of the album on his Bandcamp page for ONE DAY. While that's four months away, you better mark that on your calendars. You also might want to check out the artwork - it's so 2005, haha!

Aside from OLD MUSIC, he also dropped some NEW MUSIC on his Soundcloud page. Dissatisfied with the other remixes of Troy Ave's "All About The Money" song (I've never listened to Troy Ave, btw), "All About The Villain Remix" finds Poe lacing his own version, and he doesn't hold back. All bite behind that bark. With an aggressive flow and heated bars, the villain is throwing verbal fists and is coming for heads of corrupted officers. It's a hard song. Stream and DOWNLOAD FOR FREE!

His second offering was another remix, but this time it was a remix of an ASAP Rocky track, called "Lord Pretty Flacko 2". I'll be the first to admit that I don't listen to ASAP Rocky (no particular reason, just haven't gotten into the dude), so I'm not familiar with the original. However, I can talk about Poe's version "The Villain 2". While I am not really gravitating towards the beat so much, I am feeling Poe's grimy approach, go-hard-or-go-home attitude, and his rapid-fire delivery. My favorite part is the second verse, too, because he's spitting some from-the-heart, real shit, like representing for his town, demanding respecting, getting to where he is without hand-outs, and the shady friends that turned their backs on him after he's helped them in some way. The villain is poetically killin' 'em. Once again, stream and DOWNLOAD FOR FREE.

Last, but not least, the final track that he recently dropped is a tribute to Jay Z. Spitting over his "Feelin' It" song, which was originally on Jay's Reasonable Doubt album, Poe adds a couple of verses. Rapping about his come-up and the life he's living, from being raised on rappers like Tupac and being inspired by the East Coast culture, rapping about his first love, staying focused on contributing to hip hop, and his goals of his music making him successful. Now this is a remix that I can get behind! Stream and DOWNLOAD FOR FREE.

FUN FACT TIME: Did you know that teenager Poe once wanted to be a woodsmith? Yes, true. He built toy cars and planes, and things of that nature. Check the photo on Instagram! You never know, maybe one of these days he'll put a hand-crafted wood piece in a future music package and it could become a collectible item! Haha.

PAPA J. RUIZ

Papa J's "Me Against The World" music video has finally reached over 20K views, and is well on its way to 25K. If you haven't seen it yet, or if you just wanna watch it again, go do that! Share it with your friends, too, because his HR1955 album will be out before you know it. IN FACT, he announced the release date already... MARCH 25th! His listening party information was also unveiled!

It will be held at KMG Studios (in Greenwood Village, Colorado) on March 24th, between 7PM-9PM. While it is open to the public to attend, there will only be 50 SEATS AVAILABLE. Save the date, save the time, save the address, and make sure you are there early! Each seated person will recieve a free signed CD, too! Peep the flyer below.

Regarding the album and the experience, Papa J. Ruiz said: "GOD watches everything. iii don't know how this is going to work out but iiim promise to YOU ALL that ‪#‎HR1955‬ will be a CLASSIC! iii want you all to experience HIP HOP in a whole new light. THIS ALBUM IS A STORY KNOW ONE HAS SPOKE ON. Love you mommy and pops you guys will be retired iii SWEAR TO GOD! ‪#‎iii‬ ‪#‎ORGANIZEDTHREAT‬ / #HR1955 3/25/15"

JMEGA THE GOD

In the last few weeks, JMega dropped two new True Masterz songs. The first is called "Kosher", and it finds him spitting two quick verses, loosely about what it's like being a universal leader. The second, and most recent song, is called "Expansions". Over a smooth groove of a buzzing bassline and dusty drums, the verses focus on staying cool, calm, collected, while elevating your life. This one is my favorite of the two.

JG

With his Stay Still album coming in the Spring of this year, producer/rapper JG dropped his second single on the first of the year. Even though it's the unmastered version, "A Simple Notion/A Complex Emotion" shows me his skill on the mic, because I thought he was strictly a producer. I'm feeling it, even though it's a rough edit. I sense a dark, melancholy vibe in his storytelling. In contemplating his life and the future that waits for him, he talks about weeding out fake friends, finding truth behind the lies, and preparing himself for any rejection that lies ahead.

When I asked him for his insight on the song, he said: "The album it's apart of is a concept album that takes place after a catastrophic event. So, each track is a mindset you would find that atmosphere. This particular track is about the main character's struggle with the loss of his woman, his disgust with the state of life, and his struggle trying to find love again."

Also, JG put together the 5th installment in the OGT Mix Series. A little over 15 minutes in length, VOLUME 5 combines JG's favorite songs from Papa J. Ruiz, Vida Killz, Von Poe VII, EmptySev, and Razor. Find the track list below, then stream and download the mix for free.

MIX TRACKLIST:
Papa J. Ruiz - "Eyes Closed" [Prod.Joogy Jugg]
Chateau Des Dieux - "Paranoia" [Prod. JG]
Von Poe VII - "Delegation" (Feat. Papa J. Ruiz) [Prod. Ruman]
EmptySev - "Bloody Sabre (Viktor Kreed)" [Prod Ruman]
Razor - "Retaliate" [Prod. Chaper 3 Beats]

EMPTYSEV

Here's an OGT collaborative track for you! EmptySev teamed up with Xican Brown for the first time, for a song called "The Coming". The two get wild on this song, produced by Ruman, with the intro done by Koolz One. It's a tough song. However, I found myself laughing at the following one-liner by Xican Brown: "Smooth as cream cheese sliding through the fuckin' bagel". Haha, so random. Cool track, overall. Stream and download for free!

XICAN BROWN

Earlier tonight, Xican Brown dropped a brand new track. He had linked up with another fellow OGT member, Koolz One, for "Poison Darts". Produced by Xican Brown himself, the two are spitting lyrical venom, proving why they are a formidable threat. Both of them are witty with the wordplay and their flows are fierce, too. Stream below, then DOWNLOAD FOR FREE.

KOOLZ ONE

A couple of weeks ago, Koolz One dropped a dope posse track called "Body Bags". It featured Xican Brown and Razor, with production handled by Rellim. These three blood-thirsty emcees spit vicious, cautionary bars, sending death warnings to anyone that gets in their way or disrespects the mic. This one will be on Koolz One's forthcoming album, titled The Alpha, scheduled for release sometime this year. Stream below and DOWNLOAD FOR FREE!

VIDA KILLZ

Vida has been posting several short video pieces that find her lacing some spoken word pieces - some heard and some unheard yet. On December 17th, she posted three 15-second spoken word pieces. Listen to them here: PT 1, PT 2, and PT 3. The next day, she followed that up with another video, where she's reciting lines from her Daydreams And Nightmares album. Watch that here, and look out for that album sometime this year. On December 20th, she posted another one, this time it's something from DeathKillz (can't wait for the second album from them!): check that video. Lastly, before the year was up, she posted one last one (watch).

Aside from videos, she's been sharing sneak peak photos from her life (young Vida, her desk space, and winter beauties), as well as letting us know that she has a lot planned for the year.

SOULCAT E-PHIFE

This cool Soulcat has a couple of shows lined up that you should know about, especially if you live in Vienna. The first one is going down on January 17th, for Kültür Gemma. It's a performative presentation of a film, literary performance, and live music. She will be performing at the end of the event. Check this link for more information, or go to the site to see a bigger version of the flyer.

The second show takes place on January 23rd, for the Soli-Konzert: HipHop gegen Strache im Einbaumöbel. This show show is hosted by Linkswende, which is a political organization against racism and fascism. It will be focused around hop hop making a statement against Australian politician Strache. About the event, Soulcat E-Phife said: "Next up with ESRAP, SOULCAT E5 uvm.!! Vienna, don't miss this if you wanna make a statement. The right wingers is sueing the left party and we gotta make this bullshit stop, so we get together for a night emerged in HIPHOP and solidarity." FACEBOOK EVENT INFO.

YARAH BRAVO

Let's see what Yarah has been up to these last couple of weeks, shall we? Before closing the year, she performed her fourth show in Paris within a year; volunteered at a homeless shelter for Christmas; she hung out with a really cute owl; her Love Is The Movement EP was nominated for "EP Of The Year" at the Kingsize Gala, in Sweden; and she shared a goofy, "happy New Years" video that she filmed in her hotel. She then welcomed the new year with uplifting words, open arms and the desire to spread love, and a beautiful picture of the queen herself (seen below).

Ain't No Turnin' Back

POETIC DEATH:

On November 22nd, the Inland Empire section of Organized Threat were together in one room--we're talking about Von Poe, Koolz One, Xican Brown, EmptySev, and Endure. Alongside posting a dope group photo, Poe said some things that helped illustrate this as being a night to remember: "Tonight is a dope ass night, dope as fuck! 2015 looking like a mothafuckin problem, and this ain't even the half of us!" He also got up and kicked it with Vida Killz a couple of days ago (who else is excited for another DeathKillz project?!).

As promised, Poe dropped a brand new music video 5 days ago. This time, it's for the song "Fear", from his ONLY GODZ RELATE album. This song's production was handled by Faces, Unearthed, and Endure, with cuts from DJ Starchild. The first half finds him spitting about how easy it would be to become a sell-out (succumbing into peer pressure, changing his music in efforts to get money, and dumbing down his raps), but that's just not him nor what he lives for. The second half gets a slight beat shift, and Poe gets real serious. He speaks on the bravery and dream he has to go all in, all the time, to carve his name into history. But, as the title says, this is about fear, and you'll find him expressing his fear of being "bitten" by snakes in the garden (ie: helping friends/people who then turn around and step on his back later). Cameos from Papa J. Ruiz, Koolz One, EmptySev, Joogy Music, and Razor. Watch it in the mini player below, or go straight to Youtube to watch it in full screen HD.

"Going to be making a really hard effort to hit you all with a new video once a week for the next 3 months. Then I'm starting on the next project (dropping in 2016 though). - VII

Also, expect group videos once a month from the THREAT starting in January. We working hard on this end, so yea. #VILLAIN
"

Lastly, Poe will be working on his next video (yes, so soon!) this weekend. He is doing a roll call for people with ski masks, living in Los Angeles and Inland Empire to participate. Read over the post below, and email him if you're interested in getting involved.

PAPA J. RUIZ:

On December 1st, Papa J dropped his music video for "Me Against The World", from his forthcoming album. The song was produced by Ruman and Rellim. Giving you an idea of where his headspace and focus lies, he spits honest, personal raps about hustling to feed and protect his loved ones/family, and being one to fight and prevail through bad times. He sheds light on some real life scenarios that could've brought him down, but he kept his head up and moved forward. "Everytime that I never had shit - I'ma get it!" Directed by Chad A. Marshall, of course! Cameos from Von Poe VII, Joogy Music, and Koolz One.

He was also selling his first run of the "iii" beanie (see him in it here), but it seems to have sold out now -- congratulations on that! Be on the look out for a restock on December 12th, but while you wait, go ahead and check out the rest of his merch options (posters, CDs, stickers, and apparel).

YARAH BRAVO:

Since the last time I caught up on Yarah's happenings, she has played at The No Stress Winter Festival (look at this smiling beauty and view more photos), shared a special bonding moment with her father here, shared some photos with some lady friends, danced in the streets with DJ Vadim, and she also let us know that a music video for her beautiful song "Carousel" is coming soon (better listen to and grab Love Is The Movement if you're behind on that)! And, if you're in Berlin, Germany, tomorrow (December 5th), you can catch her performing at Panke's Down Low event. Look at this flyer for more information.

VIDA KILLZ:

Over these last couple of weeks, Vida dropped the 5th and 6th installments in her live video series. The performances were of "Lady Death Pt. V", from her forthcoming Daydreams & Nightmares album, and "Lucid Dream", from her Negative Space album. For fun, she compiled a playlist of live videos she's recorded over the years, too... you can watch those here.

SOULCAT E. PHIFE:

In my last post, I talked about the coming of a new Soulcat song called "Ain't No Turnin' Back"... and since then, it has dropped! When I hit play, about 15 seconds in, I let out a joyous "Ooooo!" Produced by Phil Chronics, this smooth beat is driven by hard-hitting drums, a groovy bassline (it's so good), and glimmering percussion, which, in combination with the hook, has a strong R&B vibe (reminds me of 90s R&B jams). Soulcat E-Phife jumps on the first verse (Deliman on the hook and Phil Chronics rapping in German on the second verse), and I just looove her voice and presence on the mic. Plus, she's got a real cool and sexy flow. Press play on the player and keep listening to it on repeat (I did!), because this is a dooope uplifting song about being thankful for what you have. Go download it for free (or support the artist by naming your own price) over at her Bandcamp page.

v v v v v v

I'm gonna end this post with the third volume in the Organized Threat Mix series, which dropped on November 24th. It's 17 minutes in length, and features 5 tracks by EmptySev, Vida Killz, Von Poe VII, and JMega The1 God. Stream below, or directly at Soundcloud.

Thaaaat's about it. Make sure you stay tuned to their individual social sites to get frequent updates from your favorite members in the camp. All of them, perhaps? Hope you all have a wonderful week, and rest of the year (holy shit, it's already December!).

Movements that don't move men, move minimally

POETIC DEATH:

Since releasing his music video for "Cowboy Bebop" 3 weeks ago, and doing other important things like the boss man that he is, Poe recently flew back to Colorado to kick it with OGT's Papa J and Joogy Music. They listened to Papa J's forthcoming project, HR-1955 ("Such a beautiful moment, this album got me tearing up no bullshit. I feel honored, and blessed on every level," said Poe). Oh yeah, and they're filming music videos, too! Here's a photo of the group on a stoop HERE. Here's a shot of Poe, Joogy, and Smokey Davisson.

You know when you listen to a song so many times, memorize every word, and spit/sing alongside the artist when it comes on? "That's my jam!" Then, occasionally, an awkward moment arises when you realize (or have been busted by a friend) that you've been singing/rapping the wrong words in a song. That might be your case for the VONPOEVII and ONLY GODZ RELATE albums. But fret not, fellow music fan, by January 1st, 2015, the lyrics for every song will be posted and made public on his website on Bandcamp (proof). Boom!

One last thing, if you are on Twitter, make sure you follow POE. He speaks on a lot of things there - drops some think-pieces, shares uplifting words, bullshits about ridiculous things, talks a lot, and other stuff. He's very active there (in comparison to Facebook), so get with it.

PAPA J. RUIZ:

Aside from mailing merch, shouting out his fans, working on his HR-1955 project, teasing his fans with the plan of new music, and a bunch of other stuff, Papa J. has been kicking it with Poe these last few days. The very first picture he posted on Facebook, shows him and the gang, standing with what resembles innards from a stuffed animal or pillow scattered in the yard "No Label just my patna's & iii." Hahaha, I'm curious to know what that was about! Want some more photo evidence of their hangouts? Find them here, here, and here.

Just in case you forgot, HR-1955 comes out in 2015. Go watch the music video for its first single, "Domestic Terrorist," if you haven't yet.

JMEGA:

JMega dropped a couple of new songs since the last time I wrote about him. First, there was "Veterans Day", produced by Phil Chronics. Over a hard-hitting, piano and string-driven beat, he raps about what it's like being a soldier in this game we call life (stream below).

Second, he supplied a verse as a guest appearance on a song called "New Word Order," by These Handz (a collaboration between Sparkii Ski and DJ Grazzhoppa). Stream and download for free. Then, True Masterz' other half MighGawd remixed that song. Stay tuned.

EMPTYSEV:

While you wait for a new Empty Sev music video, he and Jasson C dropped a new track, called "Philharmonic". Produced by OGT producer Rellim, the song catches my attention right at the start, with Jasson saying "Movements that don't move men, move minimally" just before the beat fully drops in. It's a strong line and the alliteration is hot... wheeeew, yes! Don't let that line trip you up, though, it's a grimy song about girls and grinding. "God damn, baby, I'm a muhfuckin' dog (Woof!) // Now spell it backwards, we live it backwards," spits EmptySev. The beat is real heavy and filthy, too, with intimidating kicks, sharp snares, and rapid-fire hi-hats, mixed with some mellow percussion. Overall, it's a dope track to bump on rotation. Stream and download for free!

YARAH BRAVO:

Yarah has been up to a lot, since I talked about her last. In mid-September, she shared a music video that she was featured in (and raps on), called "Strike A Pose," by producer XEWIN. Dressed in her usual funky fresh clothing, the "caramel-complexion alien" vogues like Madonna, throws up a fist like a freedom fighter, and dances like the super cool queen that she is... all while kicking positive raps about love, life, giving, and connecting with others. Hop on this spaceship with her by watching the music video below.

Yarah has been a fan of Fat Freddy's Drop since way back. I'd like to say that I heard about them through her, maybe 7 years ago... when I heard "Fat Freddy's Drop" (a OneSelf collaboration, too) on her very cool 2008 album, Good Girls Rarely Make History. Anyway, she has a folder on her Facebook page that contains several photos from their tour together in 2013, and she recently shared it as a part of #ThrowbackThursday. Go ahead and flip threw it, if you'd like. She also received a custom made hat from the band (see here).

Last week, she shared a brand new song that she was featured on. By The Unused Word, "The Kid" is a personal, somewhat emotional song about the feelings and life experiences that come with being a kid, and becoming an adult. Yarah Bravo is on the last verse, reminiscing about the kid inside of her, the hardships adulthood has, and how she refuses to let go of that fun, carefree joy that she once had as a child. From day dreaming, recording shows from the radio, playing superhero, to running naked in the rain, and so on. It's a great song, so give it a LISTEN!

"...I see my body grow old, and I feel old in my soul // I'm not a kid anymore, I got a career and so forth // But I reminisce of Lil Miss B // When everything was still a mystery // Now those things are history // Living life is like music itself, and we're the dancers // Dancing away like we know the answers // It could be complicated, or be totally fucking normal // I choose the former; a kid busting through the portal // If I could do it again, I might do different things // I would not rush the growing up so much, just let it sink in // You grow up, get obsessive, get depression, there's recession..."

Always on the move, with her feet running on the ground, Yarah collaborated with an African sneaker company called GUTTA SOULS. They use recycled materials from Ghana, and their shoes are entirely organic, ethical, and hand-made. To help promote the brand's movement, Yarah met up with the team of artists and helped them promote the shoes in a photoshoot! Check out this batch of photos, some of which feature Yarah!

She often has a lot to say on topics such as fighting for truth and justice, finding our voice and potential in life, spreading love and positivity, and more. She recently shared her thoughts on the subject of doing what we love. Without quoting everything that she said, why don't you read it below, and think about your answer to her question: If money was no object, what would you be doing?

Lastly, before you get it twisted, Yarah is not small! She is just surrounded by big things - picture evidence! :)

VIDA KILLZ:

HEY, YOU! PAY ATTENTION TO THIS RIGHT HERE. Vida Killz has listed a bunch of free download codes for her Negative Space album, released in 2012. She posted a picture of all the download codes, so pick one (if you find one that's no longer available, seek out another code!) and own this baby in your collection.

Aside from that gift, make sure you listen to and download (name your price) the Vida x GRIEF78 collaborative album, Destruction: Rebirth of Self, released on October 14th, 2014. It's the third and final installment of the Vida Killz x GRIEF78 trilogy. It includes three songs and one instrumental.

"When beginning the writing process of this EP I pushed myself to come from a positive mind frame until I realized that who I am today is a direct creation of my lows as much as, if not equally, to my highs. Peace, anger, joy, love, disappointment and many other points on the spectrum of our human based emotions have harbored and destroyed parts of me that were needing to experience a rebirth. In this reality, to attain our desires we must carry closely strength, perseverance and courage --in face of our peaks but even more so during our lows. Much love." -- Vida

What'chu waiting for? Go get it!

Then, to celebrate her midterm season being over, she shared an unfinished song from her upcoming Daydreams & Nightmares album. The song is called "Remember". Aside from asking for your honest feedback (I greatly enjoy her on this beautiful beat, and I love her uplifting words of inner strength), she is giving you the opportunity to rock a song with her. To get that chance, download the song, lay a verse after the hook, email it to her, and she'll pick her favorite.

SOULCAT E. PHIFE:

Last, but definitely not least... we've got Soulcat! And guess what? This fly lady has reached 1,000+ Facebook fans! To celebrate her happiness, she will be releasing a BRAND NEW TRACK VERY SOON, called "Ain't No Turning Back". Tell me the cover art doesn't intrigue you! Stay tuned to her page for that update, because you won't want to miss it.

Also not too far into the future, she will be dropping a music video for a new single from her Timeless EP, produced by Phil Chronics (whom, if you remember, produced that "Veterans Day" song by JMega).

Already in progress, she began her WORD UP SOUL II European tour. Scheduled up until November 28th, hitting spots such as Berlin, Brussels, Paris, Zurich, and a final undecided location (book her by finding the email here!).

-------------------------------
That wraps it up! Hopefully I've done a good job at keeping you informed with what the collective has been working on lately. Stay tuned until next time, and make sure you follow their social media accounts to get that information sooner, and straight to your screen.

It's after 1:30am here, and I need some sleep.
Have a wonderful rest of the week. Good night!

Welcome, Fall

Hello, everyone. Right now, you might be thinking, "Wow, it took a long time for someone to post here since Fiasco last did." You're right. Nearly a month, sheesh. But, here is what happened. The other blogger was supposed to post after him for the first week of September, but, whatever the case, that didn't happen. The second week of September was supposed to be my week, or so I thought. I was talking to Poe, and he told me that after three weeks of blogging (where each of us had a turn), there's supposed to be a resting / catch-up week for you readers, so he told me not to blog again until the week of the 21st. So there you have it, and here I am. I am about to catch you up on 3-4 weeks worth of material. Here we go!

POETIC DEATH / VON POE VII:

As you may already know, Poe dropped the music video for "Tight Rope" not too long ago, from his VONPOEVII album. It's a personal, emotion-driven track that finds Poe putting his heart and deep thoughts up on the first verse. He uses his poetry to illustrate his passion for music, life, and hope for his family/friends to be proud of him. But, on the flip side, he tries to wrap his head around people that use the "love" word too loosely ("It wasn't really love if you ain't meant the words you said"). Vida Killz follows that same path, by telling a story about a close friend, turned distant friend, turned foe. Their lyrics, and the tone in their voices, are both fueled by hurt and pain. Cameo from EmptySev. Produced by Ruman. As expected, it was directed by Poe himself. "Definitely one of my favorites. "GUTTA" or "Cowboy Bebop" will be next, haven't quite made up my mind just yet. Enjoy," says Poe. Watch the video in the mini player below, or click THIS LINK to watch it on Youtube, on a bigger player and in HD.

On September 19th, Poe met up with GZA. He didn't say much about their meetings, other than lending some advice about working hard for what you want in life (which could lead to you building with someone you look up to and deeply respect), that it was unbelievable, and that he got to vibe with the Wu Tang Clan as a whole (except Method Man). That's huge! Have a look at a picture of the two, with a little story below.

Between September 23rd and September 25th, Poe was in Vegas to network and personally connect with fans if they wanted to buy any merch. Make sure you stay tuned to his Facebook page, to find out when he'll be in your city... because that's a travelin' man!

A couple of weeks ago, Poe brought up something that I've been thinking about for awhile now: "When I was coming up, I use to study the lyrics of a lot of artist in the 90s / early 2000s. When was the last "mainstream" album you actually sat down and memorized? I'm talking from the intro to the outro? Again, the last album I memorized front to back was 50's "Get Rich or Die Tryin" and Nas's "Street Disciple"." Remember the days when we, as music consumers, would listen to an album continuously, from front to back, memorizing every lyric? Whether you listened to a song on repeat to get the words correct, or read from the lyric book that came with the CD (or went to the internet in search for the lyrics), or whatever. Remember that? I'm not just talking about one song either, but a whole album. You could put it on, push play, and rap/sing along to every word, on every song. I've come to find that that's becoming less and less of a thing lately, especially when talking about the rap/hip hop community. There are substantially more people becoming rappers/music creators in this field, with everyone wanting a piece of the metaphorical rap pie, and everyone is constantly putting out new material to stay relative (especially because it takes a lot for an artist to stand out amongst the massive pack). Time is fleeting, and there are just so many songs/albums/music videos/etc coming out every 10+/- minutes, and it's sometimes hard to keep focused on one album for a long(er) period of time--unless, that is, if they executed it in the best way, making every song a hit (you know, those albums that you don't hit skip on any song). A lot of people have short attention spans (no diss, just being real), and move on to the next. I find that true for me even, as a blogger/writer, because I receive hundreds of emails a week from music makers. I'll hear a really dope album, listen to it for a couple of weeks, and jump to the next one (I have to, it's part of my "job")... while also trying to remember to listen to/remember that dope album again, so it doesn't get lost in the ocean of albums on my external hard drive. There is just so much music. I think the last album that I memorized from beginning to end was Bambu's "I scream Bars For the Children," which came out in 2007. There are probably other, more recent ones that aren't coming to mind, but that's the first one that I thought of. (Side Note: That's not saying that I haven't heard awesome, 5/5 star albums by talented musicians since then, but more so the last one [that I could think of] where I know every word/lyric). What about you and yours?

Poe has a good head on his shoulders, and is always spreading knowledge and his thoughts on various subjects. Aside from the thought pieces such as the one above, he most recently touched base on the "beef" between him and other people/musicians (read here or below). Without going too in depth with what he said, he basically let everyone know that those type of situations are strictly between him and the other person(s); that his fans, or their fans, shouldn't let their own lives revolve around the beef of other people. That you shouldn't jump on the follower wagon of hating someone, for no other reason than they're beefing with one of your favorite artists. Read it here:

PAPA J. RUIZ:

On September 2nd, Papa J announced that his forthcoming album, titled HR-1955, will be releasing in 2015. "This Nov 2014 iii will give you guys the actual date. Still Expect NEW VIDEOS NEW MUSIC... maybe another mixtape for the streets you never know how iii will feel! Spread the word." He also shed some light on what the album means to him, and what he hopes it will do for you:

From Papa J.'s Facebook post: "HR1955: iii have done a lot of growing & getting to Know me, who iii am... iii want to speak for the underdogg the person (male or female) that is under a lot of pressure at this current time in life... "Dont give up" iii tell myself this every day, of course iii see my peers smiling & doing great things even artist that are so called "relevant" accomplishing great things.... so do iii give up cause iiim not there? Naw iii say my grace & stay pushing for my spot, everyone has their time & when myine comes believe me ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THEN WORDS! iiim working so hard on ‪#‎HR1955‬ so hard... iii want this body of work to speak for every underdogg of this time for the person struggling trying to walk the straight line while the streets are right outside your front door, for every person or young couple struggling to pay bills surviving off $1 pizzas & food stamps, this project is for anybody raising a child in the world we live in now a days! HR1955 will be a representation of who iii was at this time in age a representation of YOU and everyone else who is a THREAT to whomever or whatever is on top! 1 Love yall! "

He then followed that statement with a couple of new songs. First, there was "Bomb Dropper". Produced by Joogy Music (previously known as Joogy Jugg), Papa J. spits raw raps, with an aggressive flow, that lets everyone know that he isn't worried about the negativity and obstacles that try to knock him down, because it won't stop him from what he wants - he has a great work ethic and he'll get where he wants, despite what anyone says. He also raps about the love and protection he has for his family, his vices, his desires, and the "nonsense" he was once engaged in. Stream it below, and look out for it on his new album!

Second was "Controversy of the iii", also produced by Joogy Music. Unfortunately, it can't be found on Soundcloud, but it is still up on his Youtube page. To hear it, follow this link. Let's end this with a picture of Papa J when he was just a shorty! See?!

JMEGA:

A brand new True Masterz music video surfaced earlier this month, for the song "Dark Water," from the Tree of Life album. The song also featured a verse from Von Poe VII, with cuts by DJ Grazzhoppa. Over MighGawd's beat, JMega is on the first verse and Poe is on the second. The two kick around dark thoughts of violence, nightmares, negative energy, death, and the sacrifices one has to make sometimes. The grimy, underground vibe is delivered in the video, too, as it looks like it was filmed in underground tunnels. Watch it in the mini player below, or click this link to watch in HD.

Aside from that throwback joint, True Masterz also dropped two new singles. "Starman" is a reflective song over a jazzy, boom bap beat. It finds JMega rapping about his life and what made him into who he is today. "And if I only had one wish // There's no doubt, we'd all get rich // And this is for whoever you are // N**** tell 'em, that the world is ours." STREAM HERE! The other song is called "Keep On," and it's a motivational track about keeping your head up in difficult situations. STREAM HERE!

YARAH BRAVO:

The beautiful and talented Yarah Bravo celebrated her birthday two days ago, on September 24th. If you didn't wish her a happy birthday then, you should wish her a belated one now! Aside from that, she's been doing her usual thing: rocking shows, sharing words of wisdom, posting silly (#2) and fly pictures of herself, letting her fans know that she has a lot of messages to catch up on, and embarking on a new journey. She also recently became VERIFIED on Facebook! It's about time, huh?!

VIDA KILLZ:

Earlier this month, Vida asked for your help, regarding her new music video. She asked anyone to participate in choosing a positive affirmation, words of encouragement, or something you miss about someone you love who has passed away. Write one sentence about / to them on a piece of paper, and take a picture or film a couple a video for a couple of seconds (both must be in landscape orientation). It was optional to show your face or not. You were then tasked to send what you created to her email (vidakillz@vidakillz.com). Since then, she has received a handful of submissions (see them here and here, so far), where people have shared positive words of encouragement or documented their love for someone they've lost. It's become a beautiful thing to see, and I'm looking forward to the video for "Untitled (Rough Cut). If you'd like to participate, follow her rules listed in THIS EVENT!

On another note, started school a couple of weeks ago, and is in her last semester - you go, girl! She also let everyone know that Daydreams & Nightmares won't come out until 2015, because she doesn't want to rush the process. In the meantime, though, she's working on the third and final EP in the trilogy, produced by GRIEF8; a lot of music videos will come out; and, early next year, you can also expect another DeathKillz (Poetic Death + Vida Killz) album!

Lastly, look at how lovely she's looking! Rocking that flower head piece.

SOULCAT E. PHIFE:

Miss Soulcat recently solidified the first tour date in her "To Be Fly" European Tour this fall. First on the list: Madgeburg, Speicher B, at Olo Bianco, on October 25th! Look out for that, and more dates as the weekend and forthcoming week unfolds. She said, "Look out for YOUR city! And most importantly: Tell me WHICH city you wanna see me rock next!" You heard it, folks! Tell her where you want her, so she can come perform there!

------------------------------

Welp, that's all, folks!
See you next time, and have a wonderful weekend!

And we're back!

Hello, everyone! Organized Threat Weekly (OgTWeekly) is back in effect as of today. Like I had previously mentioned, this blog will find one of us blogging every week (instead of 3 times a week). I am kicking it off this week, Fiasco next week, and Aster the following week... and repeat.

Before I lead into what's been new with Poe, let me talk about the Mike Brown protest briefly. Unless you've been living under a rock, or are in line with the sheeple, you should be well aware with what's going on in Ferguson, Missouri. It's been so horrific to see unarmed, peaceful citizens of all ages get stomped on, shot at, tear gassed, threatened, you name it... for speaking their voice, standing up for justice, and protesting against police brutality (something that's been eating away at our country for quite some time now). It's disgusting to see those who are expected to protect-and-serve the people, continuously do the exact opposite, time and time again, violating rules and laws to protect-and-serve themselves. Their actions in the last two weeks have been absolutely appalling. (Side note: I'm well aware that not all cops are bad-eggs.)

That said, I am so proud and happy that people aren't standing for this--that people are finding the strength and courage to resist against oppression, and being lied to. It's so incredible to see people all around the country, and around the globe, uniting and rallying over a common goal of equality, peace, and justice worldwide. From Tibetan monks showing up in Ferguson to protest alongside the citizens; to Palestinians signing a statement in solidarity with what's happening; to people in different states supporting the cause in their own ways and protests; to Turkish fans in Istanbul showing their support during a soccer match; and so on. These types of protests have happened on several other occasions, but this time it feels like it's more in the public eye - people are waking up and it's making a big, history-changing impact. It's also a beautiful thing to see citizens standing guard and protecting stores/buildings from looters and the few people with misguided energy; to see families feeding those out on the streets; selfless strangers helping those who are suffering from the cops' brutal actions (which have reportedly died down in the last couple of days); people helping in cleaning the streets after the previous night's chaos; people laying out 60+ yards of roses down the street, and everything else good that shows people acting with love, generosity, and positivity... which gets overshadowed by negativity told by the news and/or cops. These organized actions, and those who unify in a non-violent movement, are the steps that will make positive change a possible thing of the future. You are all warriors for peace. I hope this ends well, and soon. THIS IS AN ORGANIZED THREAT! Stay Informed: While the mainstream news isn't sharing much reliable coverage on the situation (not that I've seen anyway), there are several people out there that are. Here are a couple of links / social media pages to keep you all in-the-know: KARG Argus Radio Livestream, #Ferguson, #HealSTL, @AntonioFrench, @TefPoe, @OpFerguson, and countless others.

-----------------------------
A lot has happened since July 18th, so let me try to catch you all up in a semi-condensed form, and if you want to know more, follow the artist's links to stay up to date as stuff happens. Here we go!

POETIC DEATH / VON POE VII

Poe went to Ferguson earlier this week to stand with the people in solidarity. He said: "Like many of you, I've been watching the events unfold over the past week in the small town of Ferguson, MO. But after yesterday's incident, I feel the need to do more. With the help of Sergio Gutierrez, I was able to buy a round trip ticket to and from Ferguson back to California. So I'm going." Through social media, he's been documenting his time there and updating everyone on what's going on (Day One & Day Two). "I am very blessed to be able to move through Ferguson in peace. I'm extremely happy to see THE PEOPLE showing each other love, I hope it remains this way," says Poe. Stay up to date with what's going on with him out there through his Twitter and/or Instagram

As far as the meet-and-greet talk that he was doing last month, he let everyone know that those are set to start in January (source). Regarding that, he said, "I want my shows to be different. I want them to be personal and interactive, and I don't want you all to have to pay extra just to meet me. I have something special in tour for you all. To my European listeners, I'm coming back soon. No question about that. So until then, catch me on the low mobbing around your city. Grab your copy of ONLY GODZ RELATE when you can, or download the project for free. Whatever works best for you all."

A few weeks ago, he dropped a music video to a song called "Dame Dash". While he pays respect and relates to both Dame's moral and work ethics, Poe also speaks on what he's currently going through and where his head is at. He expresses the frustration with those who give him the cold shoulder and acknowledges his haters, while moving past all that negative shit in big strides, as he shows love to his mother, his upbringing, the indie life, ambitious people, empowering the youth, and more. "It's bigger than money, you dummy." Produced by Rellim! Watch the video in the mini player below, or on Youtube to watch it in HD (recommended!).

Last, but not least, he has some new "VII" gear available. There's a new, clean design for the hats and beanies, so head on over to his merch store and get something!

PAPA J. RUIZ

To celebrate his son's first birthday, on August 7th, Papa J dropped a brand new video. It's for a song called “Domestic Terrorist”, from his forthcoming album HR-1955. Over hard-hitting drums and prominent keys, he spits a conscious and cautionary message about the political terrorists and power-hungry authorities that creep in our own homeland, where freedom isn't always free. He also advises his son to think for himself and to discover his own destiny, rather than being mind-controlled into something else. Or, at least, that's what I gather when I listen to this song. “And I pledge allegiance to the flag of myself // And I only know the Threat, and I ain't fuckin with none else // And I'ma teach my little youngin' how to get it like me // Tell him navigate your mind through the belly of the beast.

Produced by Joogy Music. Directed by Chad A. Marshall. Watch the video in the mini player below, or go hit this Youtube link to watch the video in HD. The video also made #9 on Snoop's Underground Heat series, in Episode 71 (Papa J asks that you go vote and leave a comment on the Youtube page about the video, to get it to number one).

Today, Papa J shared some insight into the hardships of being an independent artist, while also encouraging everyone—whether they're an artist, too, or if they're struggling in life, in general—to find strength through moments of weakness and/or downfalls. He said: "Its difficult being an independent artist, there is no reason to suger coat things. You as a person already in your personal life you have many worries... Bills, yo family, relationships with loved ones yo girl some people have kids along with the fact you work and spend a good amount of your time at a minimum wage job cause truth is you can't get threw life with no money..... Things will work out trust me iiim no rapper balling and iii hold tight on to my faith sometimes things dont look like they will look successful...scrabbling change just to record hurts but for some reason its molding change... Sometimes we wish we could be the man and artist everyone is listening to but dont worry for that.... To all my young men or ladies with insecurities iii understand the struggle of living day by day trying to think positive and not let your mind travel to places you hate, iii struggle with this but remember everyone has a struggle so be the person you wish you had that could understand you.... There are artist that entertain the world.... Then there are artist that speak to the world but remain UN heard till that 1 day. #iii "

Other than sharing that video on multiple occasions and promoting his upcoming album ("If iii wanted a quick buck iii would of dropped this a long time ago but its about my vision #iii, he said"), that's about it from him. Stay tuned for more.

JMEGA

Jmega is working on a new project, called Darker Than Black. Last month, he dropped the music video for a song called "Metal Armz". It was directed by: Chad A. Marshall. Watch the video in the mini player below or follow this Youtube link to watch it in HD.

He dropped another track earlier this week, also from the previously mentioned project, and uploaded it on Youtube to stream. It's a thought-provoking song called "Conspiracy Theory," where he lends his insight into what's going on in the tumultuous world today—such as being brainwashed by politicians, ingesting toxic chemicals in our food and water, suffering obesity in America, police brutality, mass murder, being watched ala Big Brother, and more. STREAM HERE. Both songs were produced by Aquarius Minded.

Not only were there new Jmega songs, but there are also a few new True Masterz joints! "Open Sky", "Few Are Chosen" and "World Without End". Stream them below, or click the links in the titles.

YARAH BRAVO

First off, let me say that if you haven't copped Yarah's album, Love Is The Movement, go do that now. You can buy the album in MP3s, on vinyl, and on CD. There are also stickers, rolling papers, canvases, t-shirts, and tote bags! Merch galore!

While she won't be playing at Hip Hop Kemp this year, Yarah is performing at the Uprising Festival today (trailer)! Her other tour dates include: August 29th @ Milla Club in Munich, September 20th @ Graz in Austria, and September 24th somewhere in Morocco.

Remember when I mentioned Yarah Bravo being involved in a special Yo! MTV Raps x HHV.de event? "Together with Berlin Boombox, the hhv.de Store paid homage to a medium that had significant involvement in giving Hip Hop the status in the music industry it deserves: Yo! MTV Raps. " The video for that was posted last week, and you can find it HERE. You can see Yarah all throughout the second half of it.

And for some last minute fun, she participated in Throwback Thursday a couple weeks ago, by sharing a couple of photos when she was living in Brooklyn, at the Stay Gold Gallery (HAVE A LOOK). She also posted a throwback video of her group One Self (along with DJ Vadim and BluRum13), for their song "Paranoid". I had noooo idea that they had a video for this, so it's dope seeing it now, years later. WATCH HERE.

Also, if you're flying Bulgaria Air, you can read about Yarah in the in-flight magazine >> SEE?! Dope!

VIDA KILLZ

Other than connecting with her best friends, reading books, and sharing positive nuggets of wisdom, Vida dropped a not-so-new EP on August 13th. Titled A Year In Words: Volume III, the 6-track offering is a collection of songs from a project she did in 2011, where she made an EP every month for an entire year. She did it in efforts to challenge her growth in productivity, and as a means to showcase the many sides to her art. She met her challenge, but some of the projects weren't completed as they were intended, due to unforeseen circumstances. However, this compilation showcases each track as it was meant to be released as. STREAM AND DOWNLOAD FOR FREE!

Four days ago, Vida announced an EP in the works, which will be released before her forthcoming album, Daydreams & Nightmares. About it, she said, "Back in 2009/2010.. I linked up with #GRIEF78 to put out two EPs of a trilogy of work. It's been a few years, but we are finally working on the last of the trio. This is thee album art/title of it. It will be out in the next month or so..def before the November release of "Daydreams & Nightmares". MUCH LOVE!" Look out for both of those!

Also, check out a couple of cute photos from her childhood: This one and this one (about the latter, she commented: "I was practicing for my cross- country boat rowing competition. The glasses are for protection, of course.").

SOULCAT E. PHIFE

Soulcat has been busy, too! She celebrated her birthday last month, she upped some older music to her Bandcamp page (I don't remember there being this much the last time I checked, so I apologize if I'm wrong), and she rocked a few shows (with one happening tonight at Club Roxy, in Vienna, Austria, and an all-ladies show on August 29th at Dots 21, in Wien, Austria).

-------------------------
That wraps it up for this week!
Hope I got you all up to date on what's been new with the crew.
Stay tuned for the following weeks.
Have an excellent weekend.
